Not: Bu makale ilk olarak 2014 tarihinde Özgür Politika gazetesinde yayınlanmıştır. 
- yüzyılın sonlarına doğru endüstri sınıfının gelişip serpilmesiyle birlikte, emek sınıfının örgütlenmesi ve 1848 işçi ayaklanmasını beraberinde doğuracaktı. İnsanın canavarlaşmasını ve timsahlaşmasını sağlayacak bu yeni iş gücünün efendileri, merkantilistler ve onların uzantıları olan komprador sınıfı olacaktı. Bu açgözlü canavar sınıfın, ilk hesap defterini “gizli el” yöntemi ile tutan, formüle eden, açgözlülük, hırsızlık kültürünün meşrulaşmasını ve yaygınlaşmasını sağlayan kişi Adam Smith olacaktı.
Son olarak, sermaye ve emek ilişkisine ”makro ekonomi” yöntemiyle balans ayarını verecek kişi ise John Maynard Keynes olacaktı. Keynes’in ekonomi modeli, Richard Falk’ın “Yırtıcı Küreselleşme” kavramsallaşmasını doğuracaktı. Dolayısıyla Richard Falk’ın kavramsallaştırdığı bu “Yırtıcı Küreselleşme” emekçi sınıfın yeni canavarı olarak karşımıza dikilecekti.
Bundan yüzyıl önce, Amerika ve Avrupa kıtasında emekçiler günde en az 14-15 saat çalıştırılıyor ve tüm sosyal haklardan mahrum bırakılıyordu. 19. yüzyılın başlarında kapitalist sınıf, Amerika ve Avrupa’da zirve noktaya ulaşarak, sömürülen emeğin üzerinde koca bir cennet inşa edecekti. İnşa edilen bu koca cennetin bedeli olarak yerküre ölçeğinde milyonlarca emekçi, açlık ve sefaletle baş başa bırakılacaktı.
İşte tam böylesi bir ortamda Amerika emekçi sınıfı, 1 Mayıs 1886’da 350 bin işçinin katıldığı Mayıs grevlerini başlatacaktı. On binlerce Amerikalı emekçi Şikago sokaklarını inim inim inleterek, kapitalist sınıfla hesaplaşacaktı. Ancak ”vahşi kapitalizm’’ emekçilerin bu hesap sorma girişimlerini bedenlerine kurşun yağdırarak karşılık vermiştir: Emekçilerin bu hak arama girişimleri sonucunda fabrika işçileri öldürülecek; sendika yöneticileri, yazarlar ve demokratik çevreler gözaltına alınacak ve 11 Kasım tarihinde idam edilecekti. Bu vesileyle Amerika işçi federasyonu 1888 yılında öldürülenlerin anısına 1 Mayıs gününü İşçi Bayramı olarak ilan edecekti. ,
Kürdistan tarihinde ise; Kürdistan işçi hareketi 12 Temmuz 1946’da Kerkük şehrinde ilk başkaldırısını yapmıştır ve her yıl Kürdistan’lı işçiler bu tarihi günü anmaktadırlar.
Modern Türkiye tarihinde işçi hareketi ise çok zorlu badirelerden geçmiş ve ta günümüze kadar gelmiştir.Türkiye’deki örgütlü emekçi sınıfın her hak arama girişimi, Kemalist rejim ve yaratılan sermaye sınıfı tarafından şiddet, ihlal ve mağduriyet yaratmakla engellenmiştir. Türkiye’de emekçi sınıf ilk 1 Mayıs kutlamasını 1909 yılında Üsküp’te yapmıştır. Daha sonra 1976 yılında T.C’nin kolluk güçleri, İstanbul Taksim meydanında 1 Mayıs kutlamasını yapmak isteyen kalabalığın üzerine, kurşun yağdıracak ve 37 işçinin hayatına son verecekti.
Son olarak 2009 yılında TBMM’de görüşülen 1 Mayıs İşçi Bayramı, TC’nin resmi bayramı olarak yasallaşacaktı. Türk devleti 1 Mayıs işçi bayramını resmi gün belirlemesine rağmen, emekçilerin her yıl işçi bayramını taksim meydanında özgürce kutlamasına engel olmaktan ayrıca imtina etmeyecekti.
Yalnız, sermaye ve emek sınıfının bu zıtlık mücadelesini, 200 ya da 500 yıllık zamana sığdırmanın bilimsel olmadığı gerçeğini ayrıca hatırlatmakta yarar var. Çünkü kadim insanlık tarihinde emek, hak, adalet ve özgürlükten yana olan bir çok büyük sosyal adaletçi şahsiyet; emek adına sermaye sınıfıyla mücadele etmiştir.
Örneğin, sosyalist Zerdüşt Kürt peygamber Mazdek, Marx’dan 1400 yıl önce; sanayi, toplumsal üretim ve buhar makinası ortaya çıkmadan, yaşamın tüm nimetlerini tekelinde toplayan (altın ve iktidar) sınıfın dar bireysel mülkiyetine karşı örgütlenerek galebe çalmıştır. Mazdek’in talebelerinden olan Husrev-Mubad, sosyal adalet için, altın ve iktidar sınıfına karşı geldiği için kellesinden olmuştur. Öyle ki, emek ve sermaye sınıfının bu zıtlık mücadelesini Ali Şeriati Kuran’da tespit edecek, Habil’i emeğin, Kabil’i ise sermayenin temsilcisi olarak “İslam ve Bilim” kitabında formüle edecekti.
Sonuç olarak, bu iki zıt kutup insanlık ailesinin beş binyıllık tarihinde şu misyonu oynamıştır: Emek aydınlığın, sermaye karanlığın temsilcisi olmuştur. Dolayısıyla iyilik, kötülük, temizlik, kirlilik, doğruluk, yalan, emek, sömürü, adalet, zülum, özgürlük, esaret gibi kavramlar, bu iki zıt kutbun sembolleri olmuştur.
